Is DPP only focused on Cucurbits?

Although the DPP Hygiene Standard currently only includes Cucurbits, Solanum and further crops will be released over time.

Are commercial plant raising and fresh market productions included?

No, these activities are out of scope for DPP and the DPP Hygiene Standard.

Is DPP also applicable for organic seed production?

Yes, the DPP Hygiene Standard is applicable to organic seed production.

What crops are included within Cucurbits?

Citrullus lanatus, Cucumis sativus, Cucumis melo, Cucurbita spp (pepo, ficifolia, moschata, maxima), Momordica charantia, Lagenaria siceraria, and Luffa spp are included in our DPP Hygiene Standard. 

After joining, who determines when my initial external site audit will be conducted?

The participant determines when the initial external site audit will be conducted as well as which DPP-approved external auditing organization to utilize. As the time to implement the DPP Hygiene Standard and conduct internal audits prior to the external audit will be unique per company and per site, the participant will schedule the external audit when the site is ready. 

Are the DPP certifications provided by company or by site?

DPP certifications are provided by site.

How does the number of certified sites impact the membership fee?

The yearly membership fee is per company regardless of the number of sites to be certified.
